My Escape

I had a really fun night back in January. I went to a comedy show with a friend and then we went to a bar with live country music. Gosh that was so fun. I love live music. Really music in general, but especially when I can sing along.

Music is my escape as of late, but it can also make my cry much easier than it ever did before. There are even some songs I can’t listen to. Specifically, ‘Bless the Broken Road’ by Rascal Flatts. That was our song, me and my husband. He blessed my life in so many ways the entirety of our relationship. I will forever cherish those memories with him and be forever grateful to him.

Since originally writing this journal entry, I went to see Rascal Flatts in concert with another friend of mine. I listening to ‘Bless the Broken Road’ and recorded the entire performance…and also cried my eyes out. It was very healing. Have I listened to it since? Absolutely not. But that night, I felt my husband’s hands on my shoulders, guiding me through that song to stay strong and enjoy the moment. God, I miss him.

…until next time
